As more and more workers continue to work-from-home at least some of the time, even in States and Territory where it is no longer mandatory, has your business tested the assumptions and reviewed whether the existing approaches to managing risks are still practical? It is vital that businesses understand their obligation to provide and maintain a safe work environment even as their staff work-from-home.

As we now know more about COVID-19, companies must be doing all that is 'reasonably practicable' to provide a safe work environment for workers who continue to work-from-home. Both the national work health and safety authority Comcare and SIRA in NSW have recorded an increase in work from home claims from April to July this year. This increase of injuries and claims serves as a reminder to businesses to review existing work-from-home approaches.

This can be achieved by implementing proactive WHS strategies ensuring a move away from a ‘set and forget’ mentality that may have been adopted in the early stages of transition to working from home.

How do businesses ensure that they are doing all that is ‘reasonably practical’ to reduce work-from-home risks and injuries?

How do businesses protect their workers who have returned to the workplace and support the ongoing monitoring of health and safety practices?

These are important questions that I hope I can help you in my upcoming webinar. If you would like to know more – then please join me for a free to attend webinar on Thursday 10 December 2020 from 10.00 am.

In 20-minutes, I will share my thoughts and provide some practical ideas to help your business meet your ongoing health and safety obligations to your employees working from home and those who have transitioned back to work.
